Disney has sent out a request for proposals for its expansion of Aulani, which is part of the Ko Olina resort’s final build-out. But according to Aulani spokesman Todd Apo, the RFP isn’t publicly being released. “We have put out the RFP for the work,” he told PBN. “At the end of this month, we’ll have more details.” Last month, Disney said it would be adding two quick-service restaurants and expanding its Waikolohe Valley pool area at Aulani, the company’s first Hawaii resort. Work on the expansion is scheduled to begin next month and finish by mid-2013, Disney said. On Aug. 29, Aulani will be celebrating its first anniversary with its cast of characters on hand, but no company brass from corporate is expected to make a trip across the Pacific Ocean, according to Apo, who also noted that its third phase of rooms will open up next summer.
